What's the difference between GDDR2 and GDDR3 for video card memory? Does GDDR3 require a special motherboard, or are motherboards able to run GDDR2 and GDDR3 video cards equally as well?

Why would they put 667Mhz ram in something that is supposed to have an 800mhz FSB? I've read something about the memory controller not supporting 800mhz, but why do that? Does this mean it's really a 667mhz FSB? Seems like a bottleneck to me - next to a non-7200rpm HD of course. Has anyone used the Intel Turbo? Does it work? Any difference between 1 gig or 4 gigs of it? Is X64 any ...

Using your Mac mini

I want to buy a mac mini and connect (via DVI - HDMI) to my new 40inch Sony LCD TV with a resolution of 1280 x 1024 or 768 with a frequency of 47 kHz or 64 kHz. I particularly want to use slideshow software called http://boinx.com/fotomagico/overview/ My only issue is that it recommends 128mb VRAM and the Mac Mini has only 64mb. I tried it using my old powerbook with only 32mb...

Hi Forum, I have two Nvidia video cards in my PC and for some reason both WINMSD and WMI report the on board memory incorrectly. Card 1 has 512MB and Card 2 had 256 MB. WINMSD and WMI report the card 1 as 256MB and card 2 as 512MB. GPU-Z correctly reports the memory on both cards. How does GPU-Z detect the memory? Via device IO control or from register or other?...

Did some testing now that I have more time.. Low: Some textures, for example Francis' arm as mentioned, is lower resolution. Film grain is made from two static bitmaps that scroll across the screen in different directions. Medium: Some textures are higher res. Film grain is made from real noise. High: Didn't find any differences. Didn't restart the game between changes, so maybe there...

I was just responding to someone else having similar issues - when I realized some similarities. He has 1024 MB of RAM, you have 1022. He has the Radeon 2400, you have the 2600. Very similar specs all around, and similar issues. If the driver updates and directX updates aren't having any effect - how about the memsaver option in the config file? In your CivilizationIV.ini there is a ...
