Had a total spine MRI when i was 21, and it came back normal. I recently had an MRI of lumbar spine (at 500am ), and I'm convinced it will come back normal again. I've even been told that MRI's are not very useful in the AS diagnosis. Was in an accident about a year and a half ago resulting in fractures of my L1 and L3 vertebrae. Was in a hard plastic body cast for 3 months from my pelvis up to my chest. I'm doing better and just started training again, lightly of course. What can I do in the gym to strengthen this area up and maybeee reduce some of the everyday pain I suffer while I'm at it? *Yes I read the sticky...

Hey there, what the doctor has told you is basically all the MRI states! Spondyiolisthesis of L5 over S1: Look up an image of the spinal column, each one of those bony sections is called a vertebra.
