Does anybody still hunt the ridge between Lower Klamath and Tule Lake? My Dad took me up there in the 50's and I remember the bottom of lava rock blinds covered in paper shotgun shells and burlap bags filled with ducks. Dad shot a Winchester Lever action 10 gauge and Grandad shot a Model 12.

Hi first time here, My son (14) and I are avid pigeon and crow hunters and want to try waterfowling. We live in LA not the greatest place to live if one is into waterfowling. We hunt in Kern County and I know that there is a USFWS refuge just west of Delano. I would be willing to "pay to play" that is I know it is illegal for anyone but a DFG registered guide to be paid but no law ...

I have some old Decoys that i will never get around to painting. 3.5 dozen includes about a dozen teal, and some mag goose floaters. Free to a good home, or you can leave a six pack if you feel generous. The lawn gnome is gonna cost ya though........

It sure seems weird this weather we are having . In past years when Halloween hit it was pretty cold out .Having highs in the 69 to 79 range that just seems very strange for this time of year . Forcast for my area for the rest of the week. Tuesday through Friday Night Mostly clear. Highs 69 to 79. Lows 41 to 51. Jim ( RuddyDuks)

Not a lot of people at the refuge when we show up. When 5 of the top 10 reservations are no shows you know the hunting is slow. We make our blind selection and head out with high hopes despite the full moon. The north wind is still blowing a little. Definitely no flashlight needed on the walk. The full moon was very much appreciated when we were 50 yards out of the parking lot and here...

I have a Ureka that has been giving me problems since I got it. Its only 3 years old but it first started with a weak hammer spring that wouldnt dent the primer enough to fire. Once this happens your screwed, as you now have a misfire on your first shot and a shell that doesnt kick out. Got that fixed for the most part last year (have had a few misfires since but not too many). Now my bolt wont ...

It was an okay hunt. Got some mallards, gadwalls, wigeon a few cacks, aleus, and specks. We are back home early because my uncle got arrested. Him and his friend went into town for groceries, friend said a guy winked at him and was trying to flirt with him, got mad and pulled out his 44mag from the waist and all hell broke loose. No gunshots though. He is booked there, my cousin is headed back ...

I myself am a duck hunter like all of you. and im bettin i love beer like about 90% of you. But im wondering if any of you duck busters are in to a fine ale after a hunt like i am. More importantly are there any home brewers on the forum? mak2782 and myself are ale fanatics and brew our own beer, but not any recently and that is my fault, sorry again mark! but what im really getti n at is if ...

Just found out someone had their truck broken into on Sunday. Now not only does it cost you a prop and a tow fee (you know who you are) to launch and run but it might cost some glass replacement and lost truck contents. Just a Fyi for you guys.

Heard the pheasant take at the refuges were way down. Don't know if these are totally correct but was told that on Saturday Sutter only had 9, Sacramento 11, Yolo 20, and Grizzly 75. Don't know what the other refuges did but curious if anyone has the info. Not good Even with the low numbers I went out for a few hours today and my chessie suprisingly worked them up pretty good

I got a phone call this morning from a friend who was stuck in the mud. Guess he decided to drive out after last nights rain and pushed his luck a little. Wish I could have been there to take some pictures, then pull him out. He seems to have a problem about getting stuck. Last year it tookk a back hoe to get him out.

Dewayne, first of all - I saw your thread about your first Wood duck - congratulaitons. Always fun when you get a 1st. I also got a 1st today. Unbelievable in my mind. My 45th year hunting....and an absolute BLUEBIRD day with ZERO ducks seen or heard on the walk in to the pond. Set up and wait..... Shoot time comes and goes - no shots heard anywhere. Then, I hear a sound. I...

It's been rather slow hunting for quite a few of us but I was able to get my wife and my son with his girlfriend out on a few recent hunts. I posted a couple of these pics already on the women's forum but thought I might get some of you out there to get your spouses interested too. If anyone is interested I am still administering the 4 hour home study Hunter Education classes in the East ...
