#78 - Harvest yielded Young's only Number One hit, " Heart of Gold," and helped set the stage for the Seventies soft-rock explosion -- both James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt sing on the album. Along with Young, they were in Nashville to appear on Johnny Cash's variety show the week that Harvest was cut with an odd group of accomplished session players that included bassist Tim Drummond, who had ...

Club/Electronica snob - it sucks if you can't move to it. Brit Pop Snob - the 90s were literally a Oasis, except you hate that everyone doesn't love Teenage Fan Club. Or Power Pop. Obscure Snob - Not necessarily Indie as much as you remember Jobriath, Silver Head and other oddities Indie Snob - Your bands rule until they go mainstream, then they of course Suck. Big Time. White kid ...

... and got that feeling that they slide neatly into a void you had in your musical taste all your life? I say this because I just discovered (at the grand old age of 21) Sonic Youth. They're rapidly becoming one of my favourite bands. -------- If we don't make it, we'll fake it. <--

Are actually *beep*. Bollocks. Crap. Jonny plays any chords and notes at random and Thom sings like a dying cat. I'll also add that they keep getting compared to R.E.M. but Radiohead could never touch R.E.M.! I had to knock a few buildings over I made an ugly mess.

it all sounds good to speak in music magazine platitudes and say things like "their music is still relevant" today, or talk about John Cale's "legitimate forays into the avant garde"... whatever that's supposed to mean. I mean, Deep Purple has been attracting new fans for 40 years too... is their music still relevant today? Saying something is "relevant" is just saying that their music is a point...

Rules 1) Lists MUST be posted with artist first, otherwise will not be taken into consideration 2) Post your top ten of the year in order. Your number one will receive ten points, your number two gets nine points and so on. If you only post one album it will only get one point. 3) Joint positions are not allowed. If you post joint positions, for example you have a joint fifth place,...

#76 - After the primal-scream therapy of Plastic Ono Band Lennon softened up on his second solo album. There is still the stinging "Gimme Some Truth" and Lennon's evisceration of Paul McCartney, "How Do You Sleep?" -- both featuring George Harrison on guitar. But there is also the aching soul of "Jealous Guy" and the irresistible "Oh Yoko!" Imagine is self-consciously luminescent, pointedly ...

Unlike guitarists, I think drummers have a hard time being creative, given the limitations of their instrument. So, I'd have to say that I'd be hard pressed to name 5 songs which feature cool drumming by the same drummer. With that in mind, here's my list of the top 5 drummers...and I have to say, by the time I reach the last two or three drummers, it's easy to replace them with someone else with...
