I don't normally care about seat swaps, unless I'm going to a middle from an aisle/window, but this one really upset me. I wrote to AA through AA.com (my first ever complaint to them after at least four or five compliments), but have yet to get a response (about 4-5 days). What would you do?: Flew from JFK to SFO on AA 59. Checked in at the kiosk, and was happy to see 17B available (I...

Urgent meeting tomorrow so called the PLT desk (2MM soon to be 3M)....end list wait on the automatedly line....lowly elite on UA but was quickly picked up and booked.....for business people needing help quickly there are two options...go to the airlines first (here UA beat AA) or just stick with a travel agent (like AX or other)....but again AA let me down....now booked and ready to go!!!........

Quote: When American Airlines executives notified pilots in July 2006 that they wanted to begin contract talks early, union chief Ralph Hunter called it a "running start" that he hoped would lead to a new deal. Officials at Fort Worth-based American were also optimistic, aiming for an agreement by May 2008, when the pilots’ contract opened for changes. But ...

Regarding an award trip we booked this past Aug for Feb of next year, I have sent the complaint below to AA in hopes they may help us out. Basically, we arranged non stop econ flights BOS-Aruba (we went last year too) on #1013 direct (30k pp). All of a sudden, today we got emails stating that the itinerary has changed and I don't just mean by a few minutes on either direction. They put us...

I just navigated to AA.com where I saw a banner proclaiming: "New Priority Access: -Dedicated Check-In -Priority Boarding -New, Separate Boarding Lanes" I clicked on the link , but it states "This Page Coming Soon". Does anyone know anything about this? This would be welcomed news... Matt

Looking through the various threads, couldn't find this exact answer: Can a person with an A/C daypass visit the same lounge multiple times in one day, or once they access the A/C, if they leave, the lounge won't allow the person to return again that day? Thanks!

AA 1789 DFW to SAN this morning. Arrived at the gate and was waiting to board and heard the gate agent announce "since so many of our passengers are elite level on this mornings flight we will be adjusting our boarding process and boarding by status". First time I have ever heard this? I am happy to report that I do not know how they did it and how it went because my upgrade had cleared and I ...

Prior to either the first or second bag fees, a ticket for a non-elite was purchased in V*something. This is for a cruise next week, and they found out in July that AA stopped flying LAX-FLL nonstop. AA first gave them LAX-DFW-FLL as a replacement. Since the only reason she was flying out of LAX was for the nonstop, she got them to change it to SNA-DFW-FLL. The new ticket now shows a July issue ...

Our Prez-Elect flew to Washington today in a chartered AA Mad Dog, with full AA graphics. Free advertising for AA. Now THAT is Change I Can Believe In. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1108/15476.ht ml I just saw footage on MSNBC.

I'm only 2800 miles from earning my PLT for 2009. Not that it will cost much $ for a mileage run, but I have to admit it will be hard to sell my wife on taking a $400 trip (inc. hotel) and a day or two away from family just to earn miles and keep my status. can someone remind me why keeping PLT status makes sense? For what its worth I fly about 80K / year across AA and UA and either company ...

First off, I know people are going to ask for "sources" and doubt the validity of the rumors here, and that's fine - that's a given especially for a first time poster. That said, we'll just have to wait and see. Some things mentioned here will happen, everything mentioned here will probably not happen. These are rumors. Nothing is stated is meant to be taken as fact. This is the airline ...

AE 3885 tonight. FA asks if I would like a beverage. My response was "May I have a Vodka and Tonic , please". She brings the drink, and says "That will be 5 dollars, please". I read the quote below this morning. If AA wants to be competitive with NW/DL, Skyteam and Star Alliance they need to develop more joint ventures. AA pilos seem short sighted if they really are opposing this. U.S.-based unions expect a more sympathetic ear in Washington now that their preferred presidential candidate Barack Obama has won. The Allied Pilots Association (APA), for ...

A couple of us who were explats were talking to a colleague of ours who always gets upgrades domestically and international and he said that because he had concierge status and were surprised we didn't too. I had never heard of this, he does travel a lot, but so do many people. i also wondered if it had something to do with his title i.e CTO of a company. Thanks

I was on American Eagle # 4732 from RDU to LGA this afternoon. As the FA was making her standard boarding PAs I thought I heard something about “can not be storeed in the seat back pocket in front of you”. Of course I have been on 1000’s of flights, so my fault for not paying total attention. However as the FA was making her rounds to check for seat belts, etc, she walked up to me and said” ...
